HOW DO I CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE AN EXISTING APPOINTMENT?
Cancellations and changes must be made 24 hours prior to your appointment. You can contact your therapist through your TheraPlatform Portal or by calling the office.
WHAT SPEECH AND LANGUAGE MILESTONES SHOULD MY CHILD BE MEETING?
Every child is different; however, we use the heuristics below as a general guide:
Age 2 - Able to understand and use about 50 words
Ages 2-3 - Able to combine 2-3 words
Ages 3-4 - Speech is approximately 70% intelligible
Ages 4-6 - Speech is approximately 80%+ intelligible
ASHA is a great resource for speech and language milestones.
WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?
Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children reach their maximum independence in activities of daily living including feeding, dressing, toileting, and grooming. OT also works on academic and social skills such as peer play, handwriting, and attending to classroom activities. For more information on how OT can help your child learn and grow, please check out the American Occupational Therapy Association.
